Response on Hunger

My second response is to Adele’s review of the book Hunger, by Michael Grant. I read this book a couple years ago, and found it a REALLY captivating and good book. (I LOVE science fiction!) J A point that she made that I found very interesting was that Zil and Hunter used to be friends. (At this point in the story, Zil is trying to kill hunter for having special powers.) When all the grown-ups are wiped from their town, it is hard to control all the kids. People turn against each other very quickly, as groups are made and leaders start to emerge. These two kids, used to be good friends, but their differences separated them, even causing an attempted murder to arise. And when chaos like this starts to happen, there seems like nothing can stop it, but what the kids really need is a leader. And that is what Sam starts to become for them. This is something that Adele mentioned as well, but it is funny how these young kids (none of them over 15) put all their trust into this one boy who seems like he knows what he is doing. But I suppose in the desperate times, they are willing to do anything.
